"Even as they sang, they hovered above us, their wings beating the air so that there was a great rushing wind all about us that fanned the embers of the fire into sudden roaring flames"
- Michael Morpurgo
Thursday - LASER CUTTING
Ignore, the background on the images bellow of the trunks, but i needed a dark background in order that the cuts would show.

Locks, not golden like the sun. So, my most recent project was based on dreadlocks, the second picture down is the final product, not shown in its best light or ideal environment, but hey, that comes in time.
------------------------------------
I've struggled to know how i should react today. Its not often i feel anger before hurt, but thats what injustice does, it plays with your balance, i swear, even the most closed off person, the hardest person, has a place that feels and responds.
So, when i have nobody to talk to i just write.
{You say truth//in the hidden lies//erupting the darkness//in naked sighs Help me//Help me//in a justice cry//i won't be left behind Roar//Roar//Little lion//Roar Two Golden Snowflakes//Carve your eyes//Make you Sublime//Fit for this time}
And feel better as a result

(SET IN A PERIOD OF TIME WHERE BLOGGER IS NOT A PRIORITY)
NAKED FASHION.
Im reading a book called 'Naked Fashion' its by the founder of 'People Tree', Safia Minney, and is a vast collection of images/text/factual information about sustainable fashion. Its a huge closet of inspiration for me, and its been ruling 40% of my brain ever since i got it.
Not the clearest pictures, but i wanted you to see what a beautiful book it is, content and layout.
DEATH OF A SPY FLY.
The second thing i've been working on this week, is a project for my Art Foundation Course.
We got asked to create a site-specific installation based o the theme 'LEAVE NO TRACE'.
We spent time getting to know the building, discovering what caught our minds. And i came across a..
dead fly
And this dead fly, was the most interesting thing that i could find. So i rolled with it.
And this is what i came up with...
I don't want to reveal all, but the idea i went with is that,
'What if all the flies are machines working for the government tracking our every move'
And as you can see above, the video and soundtrack formed my final piece.
The most exciting bit about it for me, was where i got to project it.. The deserted stairwell where i found the fly, on this epic curved wall, the picture bellow kinda shows the scale, looking up at it..
So, this week concluded with me going to London, part school trip, part nanny's birthday, part see beautiful suzy!!

This is a post about dreams.
Not a life changing one, but for the past two/three years or so, i've wanted to start ballet. And now i have! When i was six, i passed Grade 1 and the natural progression after that event, is to ascend to higher more worthy ballet positions.
However, i came against an evil force, 'the leotard' not the stretch cotton body hugging 'thing' itself.(although i remember at age 7 being very aware that i had arm bulges when i wore a strappy one.) But the colour. I felt so uncomfortable wearing my old pink one and not the matura blue, that i left and didn't return. I sometimes sit and think, how different life would be if i had been born colour blind.
(Josie in Pink leotard, with hairbrush, preparing for her exam)
I used to have trouble with my 'Left's and Right's, to the point where i had different colour stickers on each toe to remind me. Im now wondering if i did that again, i would stop hearing..
"Josie, other foot!"
There is deffinatly something about ballet that romances me, i decided to have ribbons on my shoes instead of the favored elastic, because the process of tying them is so elegant. And i can drape them off mirrors or bookcases in my room, which makes me feel so very continental.
I could go on, but i'll save the rest of this love story for a later date.

Yum, Autumns hear.
Its a nice feeling to shed my summer skin, and curl up by the fire with a book.
All be it, I'm still going on my summer holiday read 'eat pray love'. I have nothing but praise for what this book got me to think about. the film I found long and boring, however the book is very inspirational- I don't necessarily agree with it all. But I loved her basic understanding of what her heart body and soul needed to feel balanced and at peace.
Apologies for punctuation and spelling, I'm on my phone.

Tea shopping
On a Wednesday evening
I spent a good long few minuets eyeing up the tea boxes in Tesco today. Being able to make tea in my breaks is a real luxury, and I'm in the dilemma as to stick to the ordinary brew, or branch out to an exotic infusion.
You can get teas that purify your skin, help you sleep better, or just provide you with a 'moment of calm'.
My issue is, that for me to change my caffeine pattern for something more 'fruity' is like a smoker switching from cigarettes to rollies (I'm guessing).
