I've needed a week like this.
As self indulgent as it sounds, one where i can achieve something for myself.
You may know i've been learning to drive for the past 2 years! Now if i enjoyed spending 90 minuets in a car every week, perfecting my blatant raw skill, it'd be fine. But after a year the feeling wheres off, and i started to question that 'raw skill' i felt i had at the beginning.
Time fly's, test happen, and by test 'number 3' well... i started to question the existence of God.
No
not quite.
But i got a bit disheartened.

But Thursday 26th May, was my day, and i passed.
Praise the Lord.

But now for the success story thats hot on the lips of everyone who's anybody.
I went to my brother's sports day, nursery & reception. 'We' as a family weren't having much success, my beautiful bro wasn't aware that a race is a competition, and as he yawned, he effortlessly took part. And as he noted got rewarded with an ice lolly at the end.
My mother, took part in the 'parents' obstacle race, cheated, realized she cheated tried to correct it, and lost.
So, in my attempt to gain a bit of respect back to the mackenzie name, entered the 'Satsuma & Spoon race'...

Incase you didn't see, i won!

A good friend made the statement today,
that 'it's not possible to look elegant whilst riding a bicycle.'
So, i ask the question...

"Is it possible to look elegant whilst riding a bicycle?"

To my convenience, alot of people have already taken photos of elegant girls riding bikes, so i just had to do a google search,
this is what i found...

 A) Riding a bike, in short short's, is the perfect practical way to get a tan or/and show off your present tan.
B)It provides a flamboyant way to transport goods like.. balloons.
C)It gets you from A to B. However this girl is at present stationary.
D) Take the time to enjoy the view, and catch up with an old friend.

E)Be the kind of woman who takes good care of her two wheeler, and carry your designer bag in the designer basket.

None of these images really supplied me with the information i craved. The whole bike theme stemmed from me wanting a bike to ride to uni next year. But, between me and uni is a hill, and a huge part of me thinks that if you place a hill infront of any of my 5 people, they would struggle to look elegant by the end (apart from picture 4, possibly.)

Another issue i came across was that the bike's that interested me, because they are a Dutch design have brakes on the peddles, and only have one gear. So after struggling up the hill, there is a strong chance i'd die on the way down.

16th May Round Off
30 Highpool Lane
'Vanity'

A) Almost death of hamster by Impulse Spray
B) Mother gets attacked by Vanilla Protein Shake
C) Aedan dips biscuit in ribena and concludes with "Yuck".

You need to be concerned when four 8 year olds and a hamster are walled in, and under the door creeps a smell designed to describe a London lady out on the prowl. Emerging from the mist, behind the sunglasses, above the heals is my sibling, to her right her BFF in fur and to her left her lady in leather. No eyeshadow is too high and no lipstick is too red, but the smell... strong enough to kill her perfect partner, 5 week old 'nibbles' thankfully unaware that one of his kind is now draped round the neck of a miniature Kate Moss.

Whilst one member of my family perfects her vanity, another is bulking up his. But when little miss moonlight crosses Mr mix it, all hell lets loose. In a defiant attempt to gain control, reactions are released and the whisk decides "who better than mamma to impose this liquid muscle." Unfortunately, in that case the only strength will be assigned to her hair, who knows? Maybe it will be a better remedy than Loreal.
I enter the event as Mr Mix it is mopping up mamma with a kitchen cloth.

Lastly we had little A, watching his weight and refusing to eat a ribena drenched biscuit.

As for me? I spent all day doing my make-up of course.

Fashion Show
In aid of... Child Action Lanka
Friday 3rd June 2011
8.00pm
Antioch Center, Llanelli

Last year i spent 3 months in Kandy, Sri Lanka, assisting Child Action Lanka with the work they do to get the next generation of children off the streets. They do this by running day centers for street children, which supply extra tuition and classes for the older children and pre-school and care for the younger ones. Not only do they work with the children, but also support the parents, in getting work or starting up small businesses, like card making.

Debbie who over sees all that goes on, and puts her heart and dedication into everything she does, is coming to the UK, and asked if she could visit, promote and raise money for Child Action Lanka. So i am throwing a Fashion Show, everything being locally handmade, and some pieces being made of saree fabric in keeping with the Sri Lankan theme. Its going to be a really interesting evening listening to what debbie has a heart for.

I would be totally, completely, grateful for your support!

Admission is FREE! with the chance to donate if you like what you hear, and buy snacks and drinks if your need refreshing! Any money raised will be going direct to Child Action Lanka!

Tuesday 3 May 2011

Yesterday,
I
Rollerbladed
into
town.

It
was
dreadful.

This is the Equation of the situation...

(human Body)+(Bag)+(Rollerblades)
------------------------
(Wind and Sand)+(uneven ground)+ (Busy May day family cycle rides)

= PAIN.

Usually you have the moments, the slight increase of hill, the pothole you have to avoid. Yesterday, they we're irrelevant. Because if i wasn't getting tooted by bikes, the wind was resisting any forwards motion, and the sand was sticking to my lip balm.

end of rant!
